Briette Shea

Biography

Brie grew up in the Sacramento Valley, and was thrilled to spend another year in sunny Santa Barbara. She earned her B.S. in Environmental Studies with a Chemistry emphasis here at UC Santa Barbara. Brie formerly worked in water quality monitoring for the Isla Vista Surfrider Foundation, and spent a semester in Sweden studying water management strategies for eutrophic coastlines. In the Santoro lab, she learned more about the ocean with regard to marine nitrogen cycling and nitrous oxide production pathways.
