Kyra Baranick

I am an undergraduate student at the University of California, Santa Barbara, pursuing a B.S. in Hydrologic Sciences and Policy. Growing up in Southern California inspired my passion for protecting freshwater and coastal ecosystems.  I currently work in the Santoro Lab as part of the Southern California Coastal Ocean Observing System (SCCOOS), where I help monitor harmful algal blooms and coastal water quality. My interests include environmental conservation, water policy, and hydrology, and I hope to pursue a career in water related work that supports the sustainable management and protection of water, our most precious natural resource.
